Daily Cryptocurrency Tracker 13.6.19: Bitcoin holds above $8,000

The cryptocurrency market was seen higher over the past 24 hours, as 8 of the top 10 cryptos were in the green at the time of writing. After climbing above $8,000, then falling back below it in the previous session, Bitcoin was able to breach the mark once again, trading above $8,100.

Binance Coin reaches all-time high

Of the top 10 crypto to register gains over the past 24 hours, the largest gains were seen in Binance Coin (BNB), currently ranked 7th overall by market cap. At the time of writing, BNB was up more than 6%, reaching a new all-time high. BNB is also one of the strongest gainers from a weekly perspective, climbing more than 12% over the past 7 days.

Target testing blockchain tech

Following the lead of several retail giants, including American chain Walmart and French giant Carrefour, Target is now also testing the use of blockchain for supply chain tracking. According to several reports, which point to a blog post written last April, the company is working on an open source blockchain platform, called ConsenSource. According to the blog post, which was written by Target VP of Architecture Joel Crabb, the company has already tested the platform for tracking documents on the supply chain, and its greatest challenge is “getting multiple companies to agree on which data are stored in the blockchain and how the system will be operated and governed.”
