Daily Cryptocurrency Tracker 28.5.19: Cryptos continue to climb

The positive momentum seen in crypto markets earlier this week continued over the past 24 hours, as 7 of the top 10 cryptos registered gains. At the time of writing, Bitocoin was up less than 0.2%, holding above $8,700.

EOS jumps 12%

Of the 7 top 10 cryptos to register gains over the past 24 hours, none were higher than those of EOS. The crypto, currently ranked 5th overall by market cap, led all top 10 cryptos by climbing more than 12% as of the time of writing. These recent gains brought EOS’ weekly total to more than 26%. EOS is now at a yearly high, reaching price levels not seen since July of last year.

Blockchain-based loan platform launched in South Korea

Shinhan Bank, the oldest and second-largest bank in South Korea, has recently introduced a new blockchain-based money lending platform. The new platform will enable clients to apply for, and receive, loans without the need of human interaction. According to a report on South Korean news agency Yonhap, the system was designed to reduce costs and processing times, while minimizing the chance for human error. A Shinhan Bank official told Yonhap that the new system is part of the bank’s effort to give remote clients access to a greater scope of services.
