Daily Cryptocurrency Tracker 3.6.19: Cryptos show slight recovery

After ending last week with a dip on Friday, the cryptocurrency market showed gains over the weekend. Over the past 24 hours, 8 of the top 10 cryptos were seen higher. At the time of writing, Bitcoin showed moderate gains, holding above the $8,600 mark.

XRP climbs 3%

While all top 5 cryptos were seen higher at the time of writing, the largest gains were registered by XRP, currently ranked 3rd overall by market cap. Over the past 24 hours, XRP climbed more than 3%, bringing its weekly total to more than 9%. Despite the recent gains the crypto is still trading below its yearly high, recorded last Thursday.

EOS developer announces blockchain social network

Block.one, the developer of cryptocurrency EOS, recently announced that it will launch a blockchain-based social network called Voice. According to a press release issued by Block.one, the social network will rely on the EOS blockchain, and will operate in full transparency. Block.one CEO Brendan Blumer said in the press release: “Current social media platforms are designed to use their users. Just look at the business model. Our content. Our data. Our attention. These are all incredibly valuable things. But right now, it’s the platform, not the user, that reaps the reward.”
