Job data and US-China trade deal developments to impact markets today
Following another round of trade talks in Washington, Chinese Vice Premier Liu He said that both sides reach a “new consensus” regarding a trade deal. According to reports in China, President Xi Jinping said that both sides will reach a deal “as early as possible.” Wall Street will await further developments today, alongside the Non-Farm Payroll, Average Hourly Earnings and Unemployment Rate reports, to be released at 12:30 GMT, potentially impacting markets.

- SPX500 posts first 6-day winning streak in over a year: The DJ30 closed higher yesterday, joined by the SPX500, which posted a 6-day winning streak for the first time since February, 2018. Despite gains in some key tech stocks, heavy losses registered by Tesla weighed on the NSDQ100, which closed lower.
- May reportedly keeping second Brexit referendum option alive: British Prime Minister Theresa May is working to achieve an agreement with Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbin, to present the EU with several options at an emergency Brexit summit next week. According to Bloomberg, May has kept the option of holding another referendum alive, despite massive opposition to the idea from within her own party.
