Wall Street painted green
The bull run continued on Wall Street yesterday, as all three US indices closed at all-time high levels. The SPX500 and the DJ30 broke the mental milestones of 3,000 and 27,000 respectively, and now all eyes are set on the NSDQ100 – will it break 8000 today? Yesterday’s rally was largely fueled by gains from the tech and medical sectors, as Nvidia registered another 3.79%, 3M added 1.97% and Cigna Corp surged 8.89%.
Today’s highlights: Bitcoin back $11K levels, Gold finds support at $1,400
- Trump “is not a fan” of cryptocurrencies: US president Donald Trump said yesterday that “unregulated crypto assets can facilitate unlawful behaviour, including drug trade”. In addition, Trump addressed Facebook’s future cryptocurrency, Libra, and suggested that “If Facebook and other companies want to become a bank, they must seek a new Banking Charter”. These statements drove Bitcoin’s price further down to $10900, and altcoins reacted accordingly – Ethereum is now traded around $266 and XRP at around $0.32.
