Cryptocurrency volatility continues
After showing extreme volatility throughout last week, the cryptocurrency market remained volatile over the weekend, with Bitcoin reaching a weekly high yesterday of more than $11,000. However, the market later reverted to losses, eventually returning to levels slightly lower than the start of the session. At the time of writing, the total change over the past 24 hours for most cryptos was relatively low, as 6 of the top 10 cryptos, including Bitcoin, showed price differences lower than 1% overall.
Today’s highlights: Global markets mostly lower
- Wall Street ends week at a loss: US markets finished lower on Friday, as the SPX500, DJ30 and NSDQ100 all closed lower. Despite reaching all-time highs over the past week, all three indices registered weekly losses. The earnings season continues to impact markets, as Microsoft reached yet another all-time high on Friday, following better-than-expected results.
