Cryptos back in the green as Bitcoin holds above $11,000
After taking a step back to start the week, the crypto market was once again seen higher over the past 24 hours, as 7 of the top 10 cryptos were in the green. At the time of writing, Bitcoin was leading the top 10 with gains of more than 4%, holding above $11,200, a 15-month high.
Today’s highlights: June rally halted as markets await G20 summit
- Wall Street closes little changed: Markets in the US were relatively stagnant yesterday, as the DJ30 closed nearly flat, while the SPX500 and NSDQ100 registered slight declines. The rally seen throughout this month is said to be “on hold” as investors await the outcome of the US-China trade meeting, to be held at the G20 summit this weekend. Several stocks reached new all-time highs, including Microsoft, Coca Cola and Walmart.
- Powell to speak today: Fed chair Jerome Powell is scheduled to speak today at 17:00 GMT at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. Earlier, at 14:00 GMT, the monthly CB Consumer Confidence report will be released in the US. Powell’s words and the report could potentially generate volatility for the USD and other key financial instruments in the US.
